In their household, Bill’s wife assumed the role of a stay-at-home mom.

Bill’s story begins when he found himself immersed in a big work project. He had to work 60-hour weeks for a period of 3-4 months.

As the project neared its end, Bill told his wife that he planned to take a day off and won’t be doing any work around the house on that day.

He gave her 2 weeks notice so she had plenty of time to plan around it. She agreed to his request, and he gave her a friendly reminded three days before the day.

However, when the day came, his wife had “forgotten” about their agreement.

Bill was in the painting room when his wife interrupted, telling him she needed him to bathe their daughter because she spilled milk all over herself and she couldn’t do it because she had to wash the dishes.

Despite a sense of annoyance, Bill complied, understanding that mishaps occur.

The Important Work

Later, while he was playing video games, his wife asked him to help with their son’s math homework.

Bill asked why she couldn’t help him herself, and she responded that she had “work” to do.

It turned out that this “work” was her best friend coming over and chatting for an hour. Bill was furious.

He Was Taking Some Time Out

After he helped his son and his wife’s friend had left, he told his wife that he was leaving the house for 4-5 hours.

She asked him where he was going, and he told her he was just going to chill in the park and do whatever.

In response, she told him she needed him to help with the chores and the kids.

Bill reminded her that it was his day off from all work, including housework. It was her job to babysit the kids on this day and he left.
