Conducted from August 25 to September 1, the participants presented a diverse gender spectrum: 43% male, 45% female, and a mix of 5% trans, 6% nonbinary or gender nonconforming, and 1% other.

There is a sharp gender divide in political outlooks. While young men were more conservative in their outlook, their female, trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming counterparts identified largely as liberal.

41% of women embraced the progressive title, a big contrast to the mere 24% of men. Similarly, while 18% of men embraced the conservative label, only 11% of women did.

The MAGA sentiment also saw a pronounced skew, with 11% of men identifying with Trump’s brand compared to a mere 3% of women.

The realm of romantic green and red flags illuminates the gap between genders. For women, the ultimate green flags in potential partners were a love of reading, savvy deal-hunting, and vocal support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

On the flip side, men’s green flags were fairly aligned with women’s but included points such as believing in only two genders and gun ownership.

When it came to red flags, women’s list-topper was an association with MAGA politics, while for men, it was people who identified as communists.

Additionally, a distaste for the statement “All Lives Matter” was apparent across both genders.
