Waving Pride and Israeli flags, they expressed their solidarity and determination to fight against bigotry and misinformation. Chanting slogans and banging drums, the protesters sent a message of support for transgender rights and equality.
Trans Activist Breaks In
During the event, a 17-year-old named Ayelet broke into the office and approached Abigail Shrier, the author of the book, but was tackled and forcibly removed from the venue.
They Were Shouting ‘Freak’
Videos of the incident went viral on social media, where Ayelet could be seen being dragged away by security officials, and people inside the venue were shouting “Freak.”
Activist Shared Concerns
Following the incident, Ayelet, who reportedly uses they/them pronouns, spoke to local newspapers, emphasizing the need to stand against the exportation of bigotry from the United States to Israel.

They highlighted the importance of autonomy and decision-making for Trans individuals, emphasizing that their parents love and accept them for who they are.

One of the protest organizers, Amy Roseman, condemned “Irreversible Damage,” claiming that it spreads misinformation and discourages parents from accepting their transgender children.

Roseman characterized the book as filled with lies and hate, promoting the harmful notion that transgenderism is a condition that can be cured.
